Speaker Bios

Rick Gallegos - Dale Carnegie

Rick Gallegos is President and CEO of Dale Carnegie Tampa Bay, presenters of Dale Carnegie Training. Rick is the developer/writer of the most successful one-day seminar that Dale Carnegie & Associates has released, entitled “How to Cold Call and Build New Customers.” He also is the author of a Sales Management program titled, “Sales Leadership Excellence.” His newest program is called “Virtual Selling – How to Build Relationships Online,” that is getting exceptional reviews from his clients.

Rick is the past Chairman of the CEO Council of Tampa Bay and serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce. He was elected for a 2-year term as President of the Dale Carnegie International Franchise Association in 2007 and has done work on all four continents representing franchises in – Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America.

Dr. Chris Jones - Florida Economic Advisors

FLORIDA ECONOMIC ADVISORS, LLC is a full-service economic consulting firm based in Valrico, Florida, 15 minutes east of Downtown Tampa.  FEA’s active client base includes private and public sector clients throughout Florida and the Southeast.

Dr. Chris Jones is President of Florida Economic Advisors.  Dr. Jones started FEA in 2003 after spending 11 years in Orlando as an economic consultant, and serving as Chief Economist for the City of Orlando.  Dr. Jones has been involved in the analysis and planning of economic development efforts in every major Florida metropolitan area during his 30-year career.  He has also been an economic consultant to over 500 private and public sector clients throughout the United States.  In addition to his responsibilities as FEA President, Dr. Jones is also a full-time member of the economics department faculty at the University of South Florida, and has previously taught at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Florida Southern College, and Hillsborough Community College.

Scott Walker - CEO Screenmobile

Scott Walker is CEO of Screenmobile, which currently ranks #142 on the Entrepreneur “Franchise 500” list. Screenmobile has been a major player in the screen industry since 1982 when Scott, his brother Monty, and their father Monty Sr. started the business. They now have 150 franchises in almost all of the 50 states. Scott leads the strategic direction of Screenmobile and serves as the “keeper of the brand” to ensure the high standard of excellence they are known for is maintained. Mirage is proud to be a Screenmobile National Partner since 2018.

Joe Cerda - VP Sales of Universal Screens

Joe Cerda is the VP of Sales at Universal Screens and has worked in the shade and screen industry since 2010. He has also installed thousands of motorized screens in his time in the industry and is always ready to help an “installer in distress”. Joe’s cradle-to-grave knowledge of motorized screens has served Mirage well in our partnership with Universal Screens, and he will share this experience at the Convention in his breakout session.

Shawn Culbertson - CEO Universal Screens

Universal Screens is led by their CEO Shawn Culbertson, who has spearheaded double digit percentage growth of the company each of the past five years. Shawn has spent his entire career in the shade business, originally with an interior blind company before launching Universal in 2013. Shawn’s strengths include seeing the big picture and getting the most from his team by understanding their perspective and supporting them. Mirage has been fortunate to partner with Universal since 2019, and Shawn and his entire team have been a pleasure to work with over this time.

Eddie Pruett - Owner of The Blind Place Tyler

Eddie Pruett has been in the screening industry for twenty-five years, and as owner of The Blind Place in Tyler, Texas he has in-depth knowledge of both interior and exterior shading products. Before his screening career Eddie spent six years in the U.S. Air Force including two and a half years as part of Operation Desert Storm. When he is not in the middle of a hectic day managing his company, Eddie likes to spend time with his family, or fishing and hunting. We are excited to have a dealer with such extensive experience on our Industry Expert Panel.

Bryen Duggan - Partnerships Manager at Jobber

Bryen has been helping people in small and medium-sized businesses be successful since 2019. As the Partnerships Manager at Jobber, Bryen is responsible for leading all franchise & dealer/manufacturer relationships at the company. For nearly a decade, Bryen has worked in roles that provided direct exposure to how those in field service can leverage technology to run a more efficient business. Bryen holds an Audio Engineering diploma and is passionate about recording music with his wife in his spare time.

Cameron Cerda- Bakersfield Patio Covers and Rain Gutters

As the Head of Sales, Cameron has been largely responsible (along with his Mom and Dad who run the business with him) for growing the top line at Bakersfield Patio Covers over the past few years. He will share his Company’s growth story at the Convention – how they added screening products to their offering and prospered in a competitive market against other established players.”

Rodney Brandon - BHS Retractables

After 32 years as a contractor, Rodney Brandon made the jump to the screening world in 2015, and he has not looked back since. His company, BHS Retractables in Chicago, now has nine full-time employees and five trucks on the road. Given his background he has not shied away from larger projects and keeps his growth flowing by installing retractable screen doors, fixed screens, motorized screens and pergolas. His philosophy has been “never say no, find a way to make things work, and always be promoting the company”. We are excited to have Rodney share his growth and success story at our convention.

Chiara Cassino - Mirage Marketing Manager

Chiara has been with Mirage since Spring 2021 and in that time has risen our corporate social media presence to new heights. Before that she sold traditional and digital advertising for a major West Coast news publishing company. Chiara earned her degree at the British Columbia Institute of Technology marketing program before entering the work world. She has organized all key elements of this year’s Convention and will lead the breakout session on digital marketing.
